// During my time at Valeur Designers, our long-term client TP-Link challenged us to design an affordable, interior-friendly Wi-Fi router tailored for the Chinese market.
Traditional routers often emphasize power and performance in their aesthetics, leading many users to hide them away, inadvertently reducing Wi-Fi efficiency. Our solution, the "Tower," reimagined the router as a 360-degree, aesthetically appealing, non-tech-looking device, encouraging users to place it out in the open for optimal performance and connectivity.
To address cable clutter, we integrated a sliding panel to neatly conceal third-party connectors, bundling cables through the back for a clean look. The upright design not only minimized its footprint but also enhanced placement flexibility and airflow efficiency, leveraging a built-in chimney effect for improved cooling.
The result? A router that blends seamlessly into modern interiors while maintaining high performance—without being hidden away.
